About MACA

Established in 1999, the Muslim American Chaplains Association (MACA) is a California-based nonprofit religious organization dedicated to supporting Muslim chaplains through professional endorsement, training, and collaboration. Serving primarily California, MACA works to strengthen Muslim chaplaincy by supporting professional standards, encouraging communication among religious leaders, and providing resources that help chaplains serve effectively.

Our Story

A Legacy of Service

MACA was founded in 1999 by a group of dedicated Muslim chaplains who recognised the need for a professional association to support and advance Muslim chaplaincy in America. Over the past two decades, we have grown into a national organisation serving hundreds of chaplains across diverse institutional settings.
